Atglen
is just a stone's throw away from some of Lancaster and
Chester County's many attractions. Lancaster is home to
the unique Amish culture - and both Lancaster and
Chester County are home to the most fertile farmland in
the world. In a matter of minutes, one can take a trip
on the Strasburg Railroad, visit Dutch Wonderland
Amusement Park, shop at the Rockvale Outlet Center, or
take in the beauty at Longwood Gardens. Enjoy a play at
one of the many theatres in the area - including Sight & Sound Entertainment
Center, American Music Theater, or the Dutch Apple
Dinner Theater.
Hersheypark
and Hershey's Chocolate World can be reached with only
an hour's drive, or experience history by
visiting the Gettysburg
National Battlefield Historic Park or the Brandywine
Battlefield Park. Our state
capitol Harrisburg, which is only 45 minutes to an
hour away.
The area is rich with
history and one can visit the many historical sites
located throughout the area. For instance, the
Christiana Riots took place right in the area. Nearby is
the historic Brandywine Battlefield Park and the Barnes
Brinton House, a 1714 tavern authentically restored as
living history museum. This is just the tip of the
iceberg when it comes to area history. For more about
our local history, go to the Atglen
History page.
And if it's food you're after,
Lancaster has many farmer's markets where fresh
fruit, produce, and baked goods are in abundance.
Information on dining out in PA can be attained at the Pennsylvania
Restaurant Guide Online.
Since the area is so full of
attractions, more and more will be added in the future.
