Please note:  If you are paying your bill using an on-line bill pay service through your bank, be sure to state on the check which bill you are paying, Sewer/Trash, Water or Atglen Borough Tax. 


                            Payments may also be
made by dropping your payment into the drop box located on the west side of the
                            Atglen Borough Office Building, near the Bell Plaza on Valley Ave.  If you are driving, please access the
                            drop box by entering the Borough Parking Lot on Main Street and exiting on Valley Avenue.   The box looks
                            like the picture to the left.

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS NOW ACCEPTED FOR SEWER/TRASH AND WATER PAYMENTS USING eNETPAY.
Atglen Borough is now offering an option to pay your water & sewer/trash bills using a credit card.  (MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express cards will be accepted).

Use the dropdown arrow to choose Sewer/Trash or Water. 

Please note: there is a convenience fee added by eNETPAY for all credit card payments.

eNETPAY is a fully integrated payment gateway utilizing the latest in Internet security and encryption.

  General Information:


Polling Place  for Atglen Borough is the Penningtonville Presbyterian Church, 406 Main Street.
 Voter Registration forms are available in the Borough office.  

 

Atglen Borough Taxes: 

Atglen Borough Real Estate Taxes - The 2012 tax rate is 5.10 mills.

 Remittance by mail is as of the date received, not the postmark.  
Atglen Borough tax bills are issued by April 1st     2% discount up to May 31st  June 1 to July 31 - face amount due, after July 31st the penalty amount is due.  Last payment date is December 31st. 

Delinquent 2012 Atglen Borough Real Estate Taxes will be liened against the property, subject to interest at 9% per annum from the lien date of January 2, 2013.

2011 Taxes were liened on January 3, 2012

 

Q. How can I obtain a receipt as proof of payment?

A. Simply provide the top portion of your tax bill along with a self-addressed, stamped  envelope, when making your payment.  The top portion is marked "PAID" and returned in your SASE.

The Borough does not collect Octorara School or Chester County Taxes


Other Tax information:

Atglen Borough PerCapita Taxes - Issued by and payable to Berkheimer Tax Administrator (toll free - 1.866.227.4716). Taxes are issued on April 1st.  The discounted amount may be paid until May 31st. -from June 1st through July 31st the face amount is due, after July 31st, the penalty amount is due.  Link to Berkheimer Tax Administrator

1.0% Wage Tax
: Combined tax rate for Octorara School District (.5%) and Atglen Borough (.5%) issued through Lancaster County Tax Collection Bureau (1.717.569.4521) Link to Lancaster County Tax Collection Bureau.  You can file your taxes on-line or print out a tax form from this link. 

Octorara School Tax
- Based on Millage - contact the Octorara School Tax Office at 610.593.8212 for the current rate and payment instructions.  School taxes are issued in July. 

Chester County Tax:  Issued the first week of February

       Sewer/Trash Billings:
Issued:
           December 1st, for the period of December 1st through February 28th, Due December 31st
           March 1st, for the period of March 1st through May 31st, Due March 31st
           June 1st, for the period of June 1st through August 31, Due June 30th
           September 1st, for the period of September 1st through November 30th, Due September 30th

        The quarterly rate beginning on December 1, 2011 is $175 for Sewer and $55 for Trash.

        Water Billings:  billed for the previous three months - based on usage       
Issued:
         January 1st, for the period October 1st through December 31st, Due January 31st
          
April 1st, for the period January 1st through March 31st, Due April 30th
         July 1st, for the period of April 1st through June 30th, Due July 31st
         October 1st, for the period of July 1st through September 30th, Due October 31st
                           
         The quarterly rate (for the three prior months) is
                  $55 for usage up to 5000 gallons and $6.55 for each 1,000 gallons over the 5,000 gallon minimum.

Bulk Trash:
      One large bulk item per week is permitted.   Bulk item has a weight limit of 60 pounds and 4 feet in length, small items ie: wood or twigs may be bundled, bundles may not exceed the previously stated limitations. No cement, tires, paint, batteries or appliances with freon can be put out for collection. 

          

         Reminder: No Burning Is Permitted In The Borough
